Why You Shouldn't Put it Off Until Later...
Oscar and Lucy - Best of Pals
This is Oscar & Lucy. They are best pals... A couple of weeks ago I got a phone call from their mum who was very keen to get some photos of them both together, but she wasn't really in a position to pay for it immediately, what with all the vet bills etc, and also, she lived over 2 hours away.
She was desperate and didn't know what to do. See, her beloved Oscar was terminally ill, and had already outlived the vet's predictions; she really didn't know how much longer she had with him.
I said I'd speak with Debs (my wife) and see what we could do... 10 minutes later I called back. I managed to move things around in my diary and with the promise of our travel expenses being covered, 48 hours later we had a great collection of portraits of both dogs that Oscar and Lucy's mum will be able to remember them by forever.
Now, no matter what happens, we have the pictures. We never delete our work. We worked out a payment plan which made the whole thing affordable, and one doggy mum very happy.
One of the downsides to having around 5,000 dog-based friends on Facebook, is that not a day goes by that I don't see another dog heading off over Rainbow Bridge on my news feed.
Please, if your dog may not be with you much longer, or is just getting on a bit, and you don't have a great portrait to remember them by. Get in touch. Don't wait until it's too late. We'll do everything we can to make it happen for you.
I've even had young, fit dogs booked in, who didn't make it to their photo sessions. You just never know...
This is my dog, Scrooby. She is the reason I do what I do, and I feel so very lucky to have some great photos of her. I know one day they'll become the things I treasure most.
We really do believe that Every Dog Deserves to be Loved, Celebrated and Remembered Forever. So please, don't be afraid to pic up the phone and have a chat with us :)
