WHAT WE DO

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM YOUR BOUNDERS EXPERIENCE

Whichever Experience you choose, a Bounders Experience is a relaxed, friendly and fun time spent with Joe and your dogs. Time away from everything else to celebrate the wonderful things your dogs add to your life. And at the end of it, you’ll have something truly beautiful that you love to celebrate and remember your dog forever by.

PHOTO SESSION

Where do dogs love to be? Outside on a walk! So that’s where we begin, outside on a little adventure. It’s all very relaxed, and Joe usually spends the first 10-20 mins getting to know your dogs and getting them familiar with him and the photo gear. They’ll usually be play and treats while they build trust as the session goes on.

No two dogs are the same, and how a photo session unfolds can vary wildly, but by the end of your photo session your dog will have a new found friend and you’ll have some fabulous portraits and fond memories from the day. Mostly, Joe works with your dog off-lead* and keeps your pup fully engaged throughout, so you’re free to enjoy watching your dog have a whale of a time. It can often be a full and exciting day for your dogs and they’ll often sleep deeply for the rest of the day…and sometimes the next day too!

MONEY BACK GUARANTEE

Based on the feedback we get from our clients, we're confident you'll have a great Experience with us. Just in case, we offer you a refund on your Experience* if you're not happy with the service we provide, so there's absolutely no risk...

It usually takes a few weeks before you receive your fully edited digital portraits, then you’re free to share them with friends and family all over social media!

Joe will then tell you when your wall art will be ready for collection or delivery, depending on your chosen Experience. The final part will just be deciding which wall it’s going on!

VIEWING SESSION

Following the dog photography session, we’ll arrange your viewing session. Depending on your chosen Experience, this will be either the next day or a couple of weeks later, at the Bounders Lounge (see here for map) or in the comfort of your own home, either in person or via video call. Although a visit to the Bounders Lounge is preferred and well worth it (and includes refreshments!), the alternative options can work perfectly well.

During your viewing session we’ll look through all the photos from the photo shoot and, through a guided selection process, select your absolute favourites for Joe to fully edit. From this selection you can then choose what wall art you may wish from our wide range of frames and canvases, designs and styles.

* It is understandable that not all dogs are ready to be off-lead in public spaces. If you have any concerns at all, please speak to Joe first. Having worked with over a thousand dogs, he’ll listen and guide you through the best options for your pup. Whether it is long leads or enclosed private fields, there’s always a way.

WHAT IS WALL ART CREDIT?
You may have seen that some of our Experiences include Wall Art Credit. This is money towards any framed portrait options or canvases. In your chosen selection of images, there is usually at least one which stands out, capturing your dog's personality perfectly. This deserves to be celebrated, to be up in pride of place in the family home. Your wall art credit is to help towards this.

We have a wide range of framing options with something to suit every home, from stunning stand alone canvases to character capturing multi-aperture frames (perfect for multi dog Experiences!

NEEDING SOMETHING BESPOKE?

All of our wall art products are made to order, so we can tailor size and shape to suit any special space. We work closely with a local picture framer who has access to many hundreds of frames, so even if you can't see what you want from within our extensive Bounders range, we can always find the perfect solution for you.

HOW MUCH CAN I EXPECT TO INVEST IN WALL ART?

The is no pressure to select any wall art if you don't wish, although choosing their final artwork is most people's favourite part of the whole Experience. On average a typical investment is around £300-450, with wall art prices starting from as little as £169.

MONTHLY PAYMENT OPTIONS

To make what we do as accessible as possible to dog owners everywhere, we offer interest-free monthly payment schedules for wall art packages.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

JOE ANSWERS YOUR FAQ's

WHERE'S THE STUDIO?
"Is it all just Photoshopped? Do we just send you a picture?"

It may surprise you to find out that we don't have a studio, we don't use a green screen and we don't just insert a photo of your dog into a nice background. It's all real - There is a little editing done, yes, but a lot less than you'd expect and no more than any other professional photographer would do. So I'm afraid you will have to bring your dog to an outdoor location, we will have to go on a fun adventure together, and your dog will have to have a great time in the process.

MY DOG WON'T SIT STILL

"He's not a very good model, he won't stay in one spot, or he'll look the other way"

Does this sound like your dog? It sounds like nearly every dog I've ever worked with! Very few just sit there or do exactly what they are told. It's all part of being a dog, and partly why we love them so much! So don't worry, I have tried and tested techniques to keep them engaged. There are also no time restrictions to our photo sessions, so we go until we get the pics!

WILL YOU GET MY DOG TO LOOK LIKE THIS?

"My dog doesn't look like the dogs on your website. He's not photogenic."

Your dog will look like your dog, but in my unique style. There are no model dogs on this site, they are all clients’ pets from all walks of life. So yes, I will get your dog to look like all the other dogs on this website…They may even end up on the website themselves!

DOES MORE THAN ONE DOG COST EXTRA?

"I've got 2 dogs, is that twice the price? Can I only bring one at a time?"

Good News! You can have up to 2 dogs on each Experience before there's any extra cost. We divide the time up between them, and I do my very best to get some featuring them together.  After the first 2 dogs, it's £45 per dog, which covers the extra time needed to work with more dogs, and includes 5 additional fully edited photos for sharing on social media.

TOO FAR AWAY. DOG DOESN'T TRAVEL WELL

"We live far away, our dog doesn't like travelling. Could you come to us?"

We have people travel from all over the UK to visit us. Some come for a mini walking holiday in the Peak District (see our Peak District Mini-Break Experience). But if you can't get to us, or your dog hates car journeys, you're in luck... Yes, I travel anywhere in mainland UK with our UK-Wide Weekend Experience! We have the whole weekend to complete the full Experience, photo session in your local area, and viewing session in the comfort of your own home. No stress, no fuss, for you or your pups!

WHAT HAPPENS IF IT RAINS?

"My dog looks like a drowned rat when it rains, what do we do?"

This is England and we can't control the weather. Rain and flat grey skies are no fun for anyone, and your photos can suffer. I watch the weather closely and get in touch with you to discuss options at least 24 hrs before your session. I tend not to make a final decision much earlier than this (the forecast can be spectacularly wrong), unless it's obviously going to be a washout, and then we make a decision a lot sooner. Many times though we can find a gap in the clouds just by shifting our start time... If bad weather does strike, our midweek Summer Sunset Adventures are simply rescheduled at the soonest possible opportunity. For our Weekend sessions (the Original Experience, UK-Wide and Peaks Mini-Break) there is often a suitable weather window across the two or three days to get a photo session completed, so it is less likely we'll need to reschedule. For this very reason we ask that you keep the whole weekend available if possible.

MY DOG NEVER GOES OFF LEAD

"My dog has no recall, so we never let them off-lead. They may never come back!"

Most of the time I work with dogs off-lead. This gives them the freedom to play and interact with me in comfort and without complication. We find that most dogs, however bad their recall, usually come back fairly quickly* without incident. I acknowledge though that there are certain dogs that are best advised to be kept on a lead at all times, and you'll know if your dog is one of these. In this situation we usually work with a longer thin lead that allows your dog to move fairly freely without being able to run off very far. This can pose a bit more of a challenge, as it will be you who is attached to your dog! But with a little collaboration and choreography (and some professional level untangling skills), we'll get the pics we're looking for, and have a lot of fun in the process. * I will admit that the term 'fairly quickly' is subjective.

This is a varied and complex topic. The best thing to do is have a chat with me about your particular concern. While there is always a possibility that your dog may react negatively to me or the experience, generally speaking most dogs take to me quickly, if not straight away. I spend as long as it takes earning your dog's trust. This can sometimes take hours, and that's OK. I've worked with many hundreds of dogs from a wide variety of backgrounds, and I'm yet to have a dog who wont bless me with their trust eventually (We have several reviews where clients claim I'm a dog whisperer, but as flattering as that is, I'm not sure that's totally true). And just in case your dog is the first, we offer a full money-back guarantee, so there's no risk in trying. Be assured, your dog's welfare is in the forefront of my mind throughout our time together, and I may advise we pause or end a session if I feel things are not going as they should.

MY DOG IS NERVOUS/REACTIVE

"My dog is a rescue and doesn't like men/people/other dogs. I'm worried that they will get too stressed or not behave well"

Our Experiences are a bit like going on a normal dog walk. So bring what you would normally take with you. Poo bags, water, leads etc, and a towel is a very good idea. Also, bring along a few things your dog loves. Treats, a ball, toys etc... whatever your dog goes doolally for! Don't worry too much if you forget, as I tend to carry water, a dog bowl, treats and toys etc. As for yourselves, make sure you have a good pair of shoes/walking boots to deal with uneven or muddy ground, and appropriate clothing to be outside for several hours in either the heat or the cold. So nothing super special, just a bit of common sense.

WHAT DO WE BRING?

"I've never had a photo session with my dog before. What should I bring?"

CAN I BUY THIS AS A GIFT?

Yes, we offer physical gift vouchers which we can send to you to gift on the day. The voucher introduces the Bounders Experience to them and invites them to get in touch to book a date of their choosing.
